Job Description

Seeking one entry-level downspout technicians to install gutters and downspouts on residential and commercial buildings.

Description Downspout Installer: You will be trained to install downspouts and assist crew chief in complete gutter and downspout installations.

Downspout installers are the assistants on a 2-person crew. They will meet each morning at the warehouse to load company trucks with materials for the days work. Crews usually complete multiple jobs per day. Sometimes jobs are large enough to require a full day or multiple days to finish. Downspout installers measure, cut, fit, and secure the aluminum pipe and elbows together, then install them on the house under the supervision of the crew chief. They will also assist as needed removing existing gutters and downspouts, installing inside and outside gutter corners, helping with longer gutter sections, and thoroughly cleaning each job site upon completion.

Successful candidates will:

Be familiar with basic hand tools

Have the strength to move and set up a tall extension ladder

Be comfortable working at rooftop heights and on roofs

Have the capability to work outdoors year-round in all types of weather

Be able to take direction and follow established procedures

Have a goal-oriented drive to complete jobs

Maintain quality standards taught in training

Show a respectful and considerate attitude toward customers and their property


Valid Driver's License

Reliable transportation to and from warehouse

Availability Mon.-Fri. 8AM to 5PM (ending time varies) Some Saturdays required during certain months


Earnings are production-based. After initial training period, downspout installers are paid per lineal foot of combined gutters and downspouts the 2-person crew installs in a day. There are some premiums for variables such as different sizes of gutters or removing existing gutters and downspouts.

For the position, there is a minimum hourly rate of $12.00/hr, in case of vehicle trouble, long-distance jobs, unusually involved installations, or other unforeseen circumstances. Most days the installer should make more than the hourly rate.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
