The Opportunity
As a Supervisor, Operations Animal Care you will assist in training and supervising technicians in the proper care of laboratory animals and their environment, productivity and growth record maintenance, and ISO 9002 compliance. You will work collaboratively with the local Production Manager and Quality Assurance team to improve internal processes and enhance operations.
How you will contribute to make a difference:
Monitor the activity of all persons in their area for work effort and ISO compliance.
Assure that animal shipments are timely and accurate.
Schedule work assignments and coordinate the efficient movement of supplies in and out of the barrier.
Assure that assigned colony levels and production goals are met.
Coordinate and oversee weekly reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
Other duties as assigned by Management.
Complete and conduct regular performance evaluations and reviews.
Review daily time worked and correct/adjust e-time as needed, and maintain attendance records.
Tend to personnel and disciplinary issues as necessary.

Must have all the qualifications of a Group Leader ? Animal Care which include:
Avoiding contact with rodent species outside of work
Teach animal care skills and techniques to new technicians
Oversee and suggest improvements in the work and procedural compliance of animal technicians assigned to group
Assure compliance with assigned colony levels and production goals and maintain animal inventories in precisely weighed and aged groups
Work within changing shift times and rotating overtime schedule
Adhere to strict procedure for entering and leaving animal production barriers
Provide food, water, and clean housing to animals according to a rigid schedule
Inject and medicate animals according to procedure
Ability to perform repetitive tasks quickly and efficiently
Accurately calculate and record numbers
Able to work well with minimal supervision
Work in a standing position that will require bending and stretching of arms and legs throughout regular work shift
You should also be able to:
Motivate employees to improved accomplishment.
Communicate well with both employees and Management.
Monitor and evaluate the work of others in an impartial manner.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
